Gyoda tour

 My friend and I were  visiting Oshijyo castle which is located in the north of Saitama.  The castle is one of the seven castles in Kanto area, and then,Oshijyo had taken off in popularity thanks to being filmed in the castle for movie " Nobo no Shiro" .Although times largely had gone by since the screening, I got my friend to show us around Gyoda by her car. (I had kept myself from visiting Oshijyo since 2011!, the reason was that is far from my house) 

  Soon afrer arriving at Oshijyo,  I had an eye-popping experience, because the castle is not so extensive compared with other famous castles, like  Himeji castle and Nagoya castle and so forth.  I got discouraged in a sense because I had a preconceived idea that splendid and spectacular castles are surrounded with a castle wall.  I was stunned  when I realized what a dwarfish castle it is. The castle by itself  was held as Gyoda city native museum for the sake of having people reminded of the existence of the castle. After we saw the historical exhibition,  we dropped off the small space where Japanese traditional game such as a shell top made(Beigoma), yo-yos and so on were placed. We were unexpectedly keen to play kendama. ( Kendama means a cup and ball for English.) We continued playing kendama until a ball was totally landed on the flat oneside. I felt somewhat ashamed because child was staring at us. ( I gave the child the kendama because the child seemed to want to play.) I have not a thorough knowledge of the castle by itself, but I have become to have an interest in castles before that time. (,but I'm more of  a lover for shrines and temples.) 

    

 

 

   Next time, we are planning to play tennis at Q garden Cafe which is in the vicinity to Oshijyo.  I'd like to try to eat a local food , known as "jelly fry" by any means necessary.

    

 

わたしの友達とわたしは埼玉県の北部に位置する忍城に訪れました。その城は関東七名城の一つで、忍城は映画「のぼうの城」の撮影をきっかけに人気に火が付きました。上映から大分時間が経ってしまいましたが、わたしはなんとかして、友達に彼女の車で行田を観光させてもらいました。（2011年からずっと忍城に訪れることを心に留めていました！理由は家から遠いのです。）

 忍城に着いてすぐ、わたしは驚く経験をしました。なぜなら、姫路城、名古屋城などほかの有名な城と比較すると、そんなに広くないからです。わたしは壮大で壮観な城は城壁に囲まれているという思い込みがあったため、ある意味がっかりしてしまいました。小人のように小さい建物であるとわかったとき唖然としました。その城自体は人々に城址を思い出させるために行田市郷土博物館として開かれています。私たちは歴史に関する展示資料を見た後、ベーゴマ、ヨーヨーな日本の伝統的な遊具が置かれている小さなスペースに立ち寄りました。

私たちは思いのほか、けん玉に夢中でした。（けん玉は英語でa cup and ball と意味します。）私たちは、玉が完全に、平らな片面に乗るまでけん玉で遊び続けました。わたしは、ひとりの子どもがわたしの方をじっとみているので、なんか恥ずかしくなってしまいました。（その子どもはけん玉をしたいようだったのでけん玉を渡しました。）

お城自体に全く知識がないが、以前よりお城に興味を持つようになりました。（でも、どちらかというと、神社とお寺のloverですが。）

  次は、忍城付近のQガーデンカフェでテニスをする予定です。わたしは、何としてでも、ゼリーフライとして知られているローカルフードを試食したいです。
